Fire pits come in all shapes and sizes. Chimeneas are popular outdoor fire pits but use caution
when selecting. the ones that are made from clay are extremely fragile. The clay chimeneas are
easily cracked when heated, these are only air dried in Mexico and aren't subject to heat until a fire
is burnt in them. We recommend cast iron, steel or copper. Cast iron and steel will rust but it is
more of a scaling effect. They will not rust through for years and can easily be repainted with any
high temperature paint. Copper is popular, the shiny copper will age to a verdigris (green) color
over time and will not rust. Copper is soft and can easily be dented. Copper does withstand the
heat of a fire. Most copper chimeneas and fire pits have wrought iron stands will will last for years.
